Demo 1.2.0
Note: There have been some changes to Nemesis’ Effect menu and the way Temporary Party Members act. If there are issues with these, it should be fixed after some gameplay.
Visual Changes
- The size of enemies have been decreased.
- The battle backgrounds are redrawn at half their original size. This also allows them to include more of what was originally cut off.
- The size of the enemy HP bars have been decreased. The enemy HP bar and damage numbers are now right above the enemy. This should make it easier to see the HP bar.
- Enemy placements in battle have been adjusted.
- Adjusted the size of most of the battle animations to be slightly smaller.
- The ceilings of each map now extend for the entire out of bounds areas.
- New icons for Tokens and Badges.
- States have new priorities.
- Implemented an Item Sort plugin to sort the menus in a defined way rather than by ID. This allows the menus to look much neater with more items. Changed the credits to include this plugin.
- Learned abilities are now in the Skills menu instead of a separate menu.
- Shot Glass Potions have a new overworld sprite.
- Scanning abilities have had “Resistances” and “Weaknesses” renamed to “E.Resist” and “E.Weak” to save character space.
- Overwhelming Visions’ extra turn has a new icon.
Gameplay Changes
- Dialogue choices now start on no option, to prevent accidentally skipping through them.
- There are a few more Shot Glass Potions on the earlier floors.
- There is a Bookshelf on floor 18 in place of the sign.
- Moved the bookshelf about Jump, and added one on Floor 5 about save points.
- The beginning of the first run now asks for your saving preference rather than your permadeath preference.
- The secret code which originally pushes you to run 2 has been changed. It now gives an item to instantly end the run.
- All bosses now share a hidden state that has their status immunities.
- The incorrect rooms in Floor 10 now bring you to the entrance of those rooms instead of the center.
Balancing Changes
- Fire II is nerfed. It is slightly weaker and costs 1 more MP.
- The Attack stat has a greater influence on the amount of damage attack does: From 3.125 damage per attack to 5. Enemies in the first 30 floors now have a lower attack stat, but a higher defense to compensate.
- Altered the attack stat of some weapons.
- The Sanity stat now correctly reduces the damage of incoming spells.
- Most Healing abilities are now based on Vitality rather than Magic.
- Dread has a higher base Sanity, and Dread’s Visor module gives him extra Sanity.
- Light Shields have been altered. They provide less defense, but provide Evasion, Speed, and element resistances.
- Genji Shield is now a Light Shield.
- Most Healing skills have a Speed Priority of 20. This makes it harder to heal after an enemy attacks. Restore has a Speed Priority of -10.
- Darkdispel Charm provides 1 more Magic, Soul Charm provides 1 less.
- Vitality+ Charm is renamed to Vital+ Charm, and now provides 200 HP.
- Elemental Charm now provides 1 Magic.
Possession Changes
- The Possession’s Level-Based influence has a lesser impact on Effects and Stat Decreases. For each extra floor or extra count that is added to an effect or a stat decrease based on Nemesis’ level, there is a chance to negate it.
- Panic Attack and Beast Conversion activate before the game adds new Effects, preventing the game from lowering stats before you can remove them.
- Panic Attack can steal extra MP if Nemesis has no Sanity left.
- Doom is altered. Instead of instantly killing the player on death, it gives the player 1 free pass per battle, at no mercy cost. Its original effect is still in place, other than that.
- Beast Conversion, Acid Trip, and Darkness last less floors.
- Unaware causes you to lose 1 less Gold.
- Broken Stability is less likely to have a positive effect.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where effects removed with Mercy would restore their original timer upon getting another copy of the effect later.
- Fixed some cases where hitting Cancel during dialogue options will select option 2.
- Temporary party members are now correctly affected by Stun, Shell, and Hypnosis.
- Damage over time effects such as Ooze can now correctly kill enemies.
- Fixed an issue where Dread would run the wrong way when escaping from battle.
- Some random bug fixes.
